Yin & yoga Nidrā: A Restorative Experience

Yin & yoga Nidrā: A Restorative Experience

Top Organizer
Overview

This experience centers the importance of rest and community, offering a space to feel held and breathe together.

Yin & yoga Nidrā is a communal yoga offering —a space for folks to come together in rest, reflection, and restoration. This is a space to feel held, to breathe together, and to remember: our rest is powerful, and our healing is collective.

WHAT TO EXPECT 🌀💤

We will open with yin yoga poses to promote relaxation and introspection. Then ground ourselves into the practice of yoga Nidrā, often called ‘yogic sleep’, which invites you into a space between wakefulness and sleep. This is the sweet spot that holds potential for deep healing, creativity, and much more.

There will be time for hellos, creating a comfortable rest space to fit everyone’s individual needs, and space to discuss the practice and any feels afterwards.

My words can be an invitation to reflect during the Nidrā. There will be time to capture what arises, if you choose to.

WHAT TO BRING 📒🎨

Eaton Wellness has all the things when it comes to props. If you prefer to bring your own mat, pillow, and blanket, please do so. Also, consider some of the following: water, writing journal + pen(cil), tarot/oracle cards, crystals, watercolors, and anything else that calls you.

About the Facilitator:

Alyssa is an educator, Yin yoga and yoga Nidrā facilitator. She was introduced to yoga Nidrā during a full moon circle at Eaton DC in 2019. That experience of deep relaxation set the tone for providing herself and others with the restorative benefits of Nidrā. She became a certified teacher and facilitator in May 2022.

She believes yoga Nidrā is more than a rest practice, it's a portal to limitless paths of exploration. It integrates body, mind, and spirit to arrive at deeper levels of relaxation and inner awareness. Most importantly, it's a way to reclaim the rest we deserve. It's her desire for others to be replenished, to experience themselves in ease through a restorative yoga practice. Alyssa's offering, Roots of Rest, centers QTPOC, BBIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ folks with the sleep and healing benefits of yoga Nidrā.
