Midtown International Theatre Festival
John Chatterton (AM '68, Stanford University) started the Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) in 2000 as a Midtown alternative to the New York Fringe Festival. The year 2026 marks its 19th season. This year the festival comprises 32 plays, ranging from 30 - 120 minutes long, plus a program of 10-minute plays, the Short Play Lab. The festival takes place at the American Theatre for Actors, 314 W. 54th St. in Manhattan, New York, NY 10019, USA, from June 15 - July 26.
Note: for 2026 MITF at ATA, audiences may not arrive earlier than 20 minutes before curtain, so to allow for the load in/load outs. House will open 10 minutes before the show; Box Office opens 30 minutes before the show.
ADA Access: Call 212-581-3044 or 917-773-2933 in advance for all wheelchair access. Please have an assistant if you are in a manual wheelchair to get over the front entryway steps. Electric wheelchairs must use our 53rd street entrance and we need to plan ahead with you.
