Wissahickon Environmental Center
The Wissahickon Environmental Center, also known as the Tree House, is a located at 300 W. Northwestern Ave. at the far northern section of Wissahickon Park. We are one of three environmental centers run by Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Department. Our small center is a fun place to visit, housing a number of turtle species, a wonderful mural, and various artifacts (natural and historic) from the Park. This building was formerly the Caretaker's home of the Andorra Tree Nursery, and a giant Sycamore tree used to grow through the building! The former tree nursery is now part of the Wissahickon Park. Join us for one of our many public programs, or bring your school group for a lesson!
